Join us for Criders Crusade, a meaningful gathering of community and heart—coming together to clean up, repair, and revitalize Crider’s Rodeo & Dancehall, a Hill Country institution that shaped our memories and brought us together under that one iconic roof.
Why This Matters Now
On July 4–5, 2025, Central Texas Hill Country suffered one of the most catastrophic flash flood events in recent history. Fueled by a mesoscale convective vortex enriched by remnants of Tropical Storm Barry, the storm dumped massive rainfall—up to 20 inches in some places—causing the Guadalupe River near Hunt to rise as much as 22 feet in just two hours, reaching a crest of 29 feet .
The floods claimed at least 135 lives, many in Kerr County, with Camp Mystic near Hunt—the site of Crider’s rodeo roots—enduring terrible loss.
This tragedy reshaped our region, devastated infrastructure, and left an imprint on our shared spirit.
