Have you ever wanted to serve as an Honor Flight guardian? Honor Flight DCA has offered to host a special training for TMC platoon members interested in serving as guardians for upcoming flights! What is Honor Flight? The Honor Flight Network flies WWII, Korea and Vietnam veterans from 127 cities, free of charge, to visit their memorials in Washington DC. Every Veteran is assigned a Guardian who is their buddy for the day. Most of the time, these Guardians accompany their Veterans from their originating city, but occasionally we get requests for DC-based guardians and that’s where we come in! In order to serve as a guardian, you must go through Guardian Training. After successfully completing this training you will be able to assist as a guardian or a floater for Honor Flight hubs requesting additional assistance. This training is specific to Honor Flights flying into DCA, not Dulles or BWI. The training will be held on the 8th floor at one of the guardian coordinators office buildings. Please let me know if you have any questions!
