On Saturday May 20, 2017, A Safe Haven Foundation is hosting one of Chicago’s most anticipated Annual Homeless Veteran Stand Downs. The event will take place between 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. (Volunteers are asked to be on site from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM) on the entire block of 2501 West Taylor Street, Chicago, IL 60608. A Safe Haven will gather over 500 military veterans to receive over 60 services from Chicago’s top health, education, housing, and employment organizations. Volunteers will be helping move donations. The Stand Down provides men and women military veteran’s immediate access to a multitude of services through the generous support of Jesse Brown V.A. Medical Center, the U.S. Department of Defense, sponsorships from community business and partners, and committed volunteers. The event receives oversight by a Stand Down host committee, made up of top veterans and veteran advocates in Illinois. For any questions, please contact Dan Alberti, dalberti@missioncontinues.org
