We are in unfamiliar territory these days learning to navigate our lives through physical distancing and virtual connections. Our leaders here in the Boston and Lowell Platoons recognize these challenges, and are continuing to seek opportunities for us to connect and serve in safe ways. In talking with our amazing partners at Mill City Grows, we've identified a contact free service opportunity to positively impact 2,500 2nd and 3rd graders in Lowell Public Schools. We will be working together to create seedling kits for each student that comes with curriculum aligned with the DESE standards. We are seeking (25) volunteers to help. The ask will be to pick-up a pack from Mill City Grows office on Friday, April 17th (contact free) between 12-4PM, count out seeds to make 100 seed packets and label using the provided materials and instructions, and then return to Mill City Grows main office on Wednesday, April 22nd between 12-4PM. These seed packs will become part of the seedling kit that each student can access through the Lowell Public Schools meal distribution sites.
