Event overview

With over 45 running communities across the country, wear blue: run to remember unites and supports military and their families, veterans, Gold Star families, and civilians through active remembrance and meaningful relationships. wear blue motivates and empowers individuals to healthier, more inspired living. wear blue: run to remember needs to 200 volunteers to honor our nation's fallen heroes on the wear blue Mile at the Rock 'n' Roll Chicago Half Marathon Sunday, July 16, 2017. To help create this living memorial, please register here. wear blue's mile will start at mile 3 of the course, starting at the intersection of S. Jefferson and W. Adams, building up W. Adams toward the lake. The wear blue Mile is comprised of two parts: (1) Faces of the Fallen tribute posters and (2) full-sized American flags. On race day, volunteers, often fellow military or families of the fallen service members, will line mile three of the course, bearing full-sized American flags with the names of the fallen service members embroidered on streamers placed on each flag. Leading up to the flags, posters will be displayed with the photograph and name of each fallen military member whose flags are being held. This wear blue Mile is a moving tribute to honor and humanize those who gave their lives for this country. Breakfast will be provided.
