Over a span of six days from July 31 to August 5, Life Remodeled will mobilize 12,000 volunteers to clean up 300 Detroit city blocks surrounding Central High School, and we will be supporting their efforts. Volunteer activity includes cutting overgrown brush, mowing grass, removing debris, and some painting. Minimum age to volunteer is 14 years old. Blight removal makes a huge impact on safety. One year following a recent Life Remodeled Project, neighborhood crime decreased in 10 of 11 categories. If you cannot volunteer all day, there are also 9-1 shifts available.
