Detroit Platoon

Veteran and civilian members of the Detroit Service Platoon rally together in service to support the amazing community in Detroit’s near west side. Primarily, we serve alongside the youth of the Lloyd H. Diehl Boys & Girls Club and the dedicated staff who support them. The goal of partnership is to create a healthy and safe learning environment inside and surrounding the clubhouse, which serves as the youth's home away from home. Through park cleanups, blight removal, and projects that activate vacant land, the platoon supports Detroit’s greening and place-making for community gatherings. Ultimately, the platoon efforts seek to contribute to the creation of a safe and healthy environment for Detroit’s youth and community.
