Habitat Restoration

August 27, 2016

09:00 AM - 12:00 PM EDT

Miami Platoon

Event overview

Coordinated by Frost Science’s Museum Volunteers for the Environment (MUVE) program, The Mission Continues Miami Platoon members will be clearing half an acre of invasive plants at the museum’s future Batchelor Environmental Center at the FIU Biscayne Bay Campus. Through this effort, platoon members will help return native habitats to North East Miami Dade County and create a living legacy they can take pride in. The Batchelor Center, which broke ground in February 2016, will complement a new museum in downtown Miami by housing aquatic quarantine facilities, bird mews and an animal hospital. It will also serve as the new home of MUVE, which has already identified over 10 acres of new habitat restoration projects on site and in the vicinity. Come out and join us in this amazing project. We hope to see you there!
