This year marks the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, and The Mission Continues is issuing a call to veterans and citizens across the country to stand united again to celebrate our country and strengthen our communities through service. In partnership with FOX Sports, The Mission Continues is organizing a series of service events where veterans and local volunteers will come together to have a positive impact on tough community challenges and remember those who served and sacrificed in the wake of 9/11. Join the Detroit 1st Service Platoon and community members at Central High School for a day of service and remembrance. At Central High School, we will continue the work in progress of transforming the physical space and culture of the school and surrounding community by expanding the community garden, completing the installation of basketball courts, maintaining the courtyards and gardens, and much more. Volunteer opportunities for all ages will be available, so bring the entire family to help honor the sacrifice of others by continuing the legacy of service in our community. Participants should arrive for registration and breakfast by 9:30 am. We will kick off and begin projects at 10 am.

What To Wear
We suggest wearing comfortable clothing that can get dirty to the project. Closed toe shoes are required. A Mission Continues t-shirt will be provided to all who volunteer. Dress for the weather, but come prepared! This is Michigan, after all.
What to Bring
Bring friends, family, co workers, and neighbors! Valuables are best kept in the trunk of your car or left at home. We will provide a light breakfast, lunch, sunscreen, water, work gloves, and tools.
Inclement Weather
Because we mean business, this project is rain or shine! Our number one priority is safety, so in the event of severe weather, we will redirect projects indoors.
