The Mission Continues Brooklyn Platoon is deploying one more time to Fort Wadsworth, one of the nation's oldest military bases first established in 1663. On this day of service, platoon members and supporters will be removing the invasive species, trees, and years of overgrown plants from the historic Battery Weed Cannon Trail. With the FINAL Phase of this project, The Mission Continues Brooklyn Platoon is working to open this historic trail to the public on National Trails Day, June 4th. There's tons of work to be done and we need all the helping hands we can get to open up the trail to the public. Come on out and join us for this once in a lifetime service project! For participants taking the ferry to Staten Island, we will have a free shuttle van will depart from the Staten Island Ferry St. George Terminal at 9:30am and will return to the ferry after the project. If you wish to take the free volunteer shuttles, please plan to take the 9:00am ferry from Manhattan.
