We will be supporting the Red Cross with their annual Sound the Alarm campaign. Together with the Red Cross, the local fire department, and other community partners, we will be canvassing at-risk neighborhoods, installing free smoke alarms, replacing batteries in existing alarms, and providing fire prevention and safety education To register, please sign-up on our TMC website, as well as the supporting organization's host site: http://rdcrss.org/2FMMrO9 Important: Minors under the age of 16 are not allowed to participate in this event due to safety hazards. Minors between the ages of 16-17 will need a special waiver that can be found on the Red Cross host site when registering for the event. Minors and families are encouraged to participate in canvassing for the event 1-2 weeks prior - more information to come on that effort. Background Information: Every day, seven people die in home fires, most in homes that lack working smoke alarms. In just three years, these home visits have accomplished so much, including the installation of more than 1 million smoke alarms and preparing more than 1 million people against home fires.
