The Mission Continues is inviting you to participate in the Washington, DC Meal Pack for 9/11 Day.
The Mission Continues and 9/11 Day is collaborating with Mayor’s Office on Volunteerism and Partnerships, AmeriCorps, Voices for National Service, and With Honor to organize a signature meal pack in Washington, DC in observance of the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and the federally-recognized September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance.
On Saturday, September 11, 2021, more than 1,000 volunteers from throughout the Washington, DC community will help pack at least 200,000 healthy, non-perishable meals. To help address the growing food crisis, all the meals will be donated to and distributed by the Capital Area Food Bank to individuals and families who are food insecure.
Volunteers will participate in a 2-hour shift at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. This project is family friendly – we just recommend that kids are old enough (12+) to help pack meals.
