Operation Enduring Service at Bertie Backus

November 06, 2021

09:00 AM - 02:00 PM EDT

Washington, DC Platoon

Event overview

The Mission Continues is launching Beyond 9/11: Operation Enduring Service, a campaign marking the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11th, and kicking off the next 20 years of a veteran-led service in our country. Veterans have led the way in serving their country and their community, especially after we hang up our uniforms. Come out 6 Nov yo serve with the DC Platoon at Bertie Backus Campus as we honor the memory of the 20th year anniversary of 9/11, a day that impacted veterans, first responders, and the world. Our platoon will be working in the community garden building benches, raised beds, a pergola, weeding and laying mulch in all the walk ways. We will further update a 9/11 memorial honoring two victims of flight 77 with a new plaque, plants and freshen up the benches. We will finish the day with a wreath plaque ceremony in honor of all who have fallen since.
