Phase II of Operation Moving Forward (described below). Tasks will include sorting, cannibalizing, cleaning, and quality controlling remaining bicycles. Thanks to another generous donation from Lynx, The Mission Continues - Orlando has been allotted a large quantity of unclaimed bicycles. All bikes will be refurbished by members as necessary and donated to Central FL at-risk youth and post-hurricane Maria evacuees via non-profits including The Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida (Taft, Mims, and Pine Hills branches), Zebra Coalition, which provides housing and support services for homeless LGBTQ+ youth, and others, as part of a larger program to include receiving locks, replacement parts, basic maintenance training, and leadership mentoring. These bikes are going to go a long way for Central FL at-risk youth and post-hurricane Maria evacuees Moving Forward but struggling with reliable transportation. A bicycle provides the means to seek new school/work opportunities, healthcare appointments, and so much more. Thank you for continuing to serve, and I look forward to seeing you soon!!
