Everybody Can Be Great Because Anybody Can Serve

Feb 7, 2023

As we turn the corner from January and into Black History Month, we want to recognize over 2,336 veterans and volunteers who came out to serve their community in over 46 service projects across the country in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of service.

During this year’s #LegacyOfService campaign, many of our dedicated volunteers, veterans and non-veterans alike, chose to exemplify the values that Dr. King taught by serving alongside community partners to combat food insecurity, revitalize schools and parks, and protect our nation’s monuments.

Dr. King spoke about the ability of the average person to serve their community and work together to achieve equality in our neighborhoods and communities. Our veteran-led service platoons serve in partnership with schools, public parks, youth organizations, homeless shelters, and more. Check out some of the projects that were put into action during the campaign:

THANK YOU to our campaign sponsors AmeriCorps and Raytheon!

These Legacy Of Service projects represent only half of the 45 projects that our platoon leaders put into action throughout the month of January. Stay tuned for Part 2 of this Campaign Wrap-Up!
