Come out and join YOUR Honolulu 1st Platoon, as they report for duty, and show a little Aloha at the SEEQS Charter for an awesome day of service. As part of our 9/11 Weekend of Service, the platoon is heading out to the SEEQS Charter School for the first of many projects designed to educate and inspire the island's youth. We'll be clearing gardening spaces, getting raised gardens into place and teaching these kids the value of green spaces and what it means to the island's ecosystem. This project will be part of a larger series of projects, encompassing 5 Oahu schools: Hawaii School for the Deaf and Blind Kailua Intermediate Pauoa Elementary SEEQS Charter Voyager Charter The platoon will begin with SEEQS Charter School What is SEEQS? SEEQS: the School for Examining Essential Questions of Sustainability (SEEQS) is a new secondary public charter school in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. We opened our doors to our founding 6th and 7th grade classes in August 2013 and expanded to serve more than 120 6th through 8th grade students in the 2014-2015 School Year and approximately 150 students in the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 School Years. SEEQS' long term vision is to expand to serve students in grades six through twelve. SEEQS offers an interdisciplinary project-based, community-based, tuition-free secondary school experience for Oahu families. SEEQS equips its students with the skills and habits of mind for success in the 21st century, including critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity. Learners engage in a project-based, collaborative curriculum centered around multi-disciplinary examination of questions essential to our collective future. This is part of our 9/11 Weekend of Service, so come out and show your support.
