The Tennyson Center for Children provides residential and therapeutic services, as well as a K-12 school, to Colorado children ages five to 18. They provide competent and caring treatment, education, and advocacy services that are community-based, family-focused, and child-centered. This organization served 499 children and 1,562 family members last year in three main programs: Residential Treatment, Day Treatment, and Community-Based Services. The Tennyson Center is often seen as a last resort for children who have nowhere else to go. They have been working to change the lives of children for more than 112 years. The staff at Tennyson Center for Children, led by CEO Ned Breslin and Development Associate Melissa Shipley, expressed interest in having The Mission Continues, along with community and corporate partners such as orientation sponsor Lockheed Martin, facelift the center’s campus. The Mission Continues is proud to work with faculty and staff to refresh the interior of the center’s buildings by creating murals, painting, and remodeling offices into common areas for staff and faculty to better serve children. Weather permitting, campus revitalization will also include renovations to the outdoor playspace, landscaping, and more!
