Come join Pittsburgh's Hazelwood Platoon and our partner Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh (RTP) as we put our carpentry skills to the test. If you feel like you don't quite have carpentry skills, that's ok too, our friends at RTP will be leading the way and showing us the tricks of the trade. Just bring yourself, a positive attitude and the desire to help your neighbors in Hazelwood. **Please keep in mind, there are two registrations for this event. One for TMC, which you are currently at right now, and one for Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh, below. Please register on both links. https://sforce.co/2WUOeJn About the day: Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh staff will lead volunteers in some home repair projects. RTP will provide coffee and light refreshments in the morning, bottled water & coffee throughout the day, and lunch. Personal protective equipment and first aid kits will be on site as well.About the event: Building a Healthy Neighborhood (or BaHN) leverages government, corporate and philanthropic investments with volunteer labor to complete home repairs for qualifying low-income homeowners in a tight geographic area. This focus frequently leads to additional improvements by adjacent homeowners. Taken together, these improvements change the nature of entire blocks and have a significant positive impact on housing values, creating new homeowner equity—often for the first time in a generation. For this Building a Healthy Neighborhood event, we will be serving in the community of Hazelwood.
