The Walk of America is an expedition where 6 wounded veterans (3 from the US and 3 from the UK) are walking from California to New York City (1000 miles) in 12 weeks. The walk will create a platform to tell the stories of our veterans and their individual journeys from injury to the present day and more specifically provides a platform to engage in a wider conversation around mental health. One of the 3 American veterans selected to represent our country is Frankie Perez, a Puerto Rican Army veteran who is also the FIRST-EVER Platoon Leader for The Mission Continues Puerto Rico 1st Service Platoon. When these 6 veterans and their support team arrive in Denver, they will have already walked hundreds of miles across multiple states. This is great opportunity for TMC and Denver vets to connect, show love and support one another and our allied forces. Order of events will flow roughly like this 4:30pm - VFW doors open 5:00pm buffet potluck dinner ready for people to dig in ALL ARE WELCOME to attend 5:30-6:30 WoA and TMC each share a bit about their missions while people eat 7:00pm the regular yoga class starts and if anyone from WoA and TMC wants to stay and take yoga, please do so! :)
