ABOUT GARDOPIA: Gardopia began in 2015, to address health disparities in a high-crime corridor on the near Eastside of San Antonio. Initially funded with the Bryne grant through the San Antonio Housing Authority (SAHA), Gardopia implemented Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) as a methodology for crime reduction. Working with SAHA, Gardopia became the Eastside's first Garden Utopia, where members of the community began growing their own food on an abandon lot. http://www.gardopiagardens.org/
