9/11 Day of Service at the Community Garden
Join The Mission Continues’ Hampton Roads platoon in Portsmouth, VA for a day of service, reflection, and community impact.
Come join us at the community garden across the street from the Wesley Community Center in Portsmouth, VA. Our platoon will honor the anniversary of 9/11 through hands-on projects that sustain and beautify this vital green space. Tasks will include weeding, mulching garden beds, building and repairing raised beds, and refreshing pathways to ensure safe, welcoming access for visitors. Volunteers will also support composting, maintaining pollinator-friendly areas, and organizing outdoor gathering spaces. Together, we’ll strengthen a place of growth and connection as a living tribute to resilience, unity, and service in remembrance of 9/11.
