Techos Pa' Mi Gente (Hogar 1) (Caguas)

The TMC Puerto Rico Platoons will be collaborating with Techos Pa' Mi Gente (Roofs for our People). Techos Pa' Mi Gente (Roofs for our People) is a nonprofit organization focused on helping with the recovery of Puerto Rico after Hurricane María. To date, they have a waiting list of over 900 homes needing repairs. With the support of their personnel, teaching and guiding us, we will be supporting them throughout 2021 to complete 12 homes (6 South, West=Jose) (6 North, East=Elizabeth). The first home we will impact will be in Caguas, Puerto Rico for a family of 4 (2 children). We will be repairing this home every 2 weeks (Saturdays) until completed. The project consists of the removal of existent roof, construct of a new roof within the guidelines given by FEMA (a handbook will be sent to our volunteers for them to learn) & finally the replacement of indoor walls as needed. This property is in wood and only the bathroom is concrete. Materials have been purchased by Techos Pa Mi Gente to start the labor for this family in need.
