MLK Day of Service - Phase III Revitalization / George Dailey Park Rededication

Welcome to registration page for The Mission Continues - Birmingham area platoon George Dailey Park Phase III revitalization, coordinated for the national initiative: Martin Luther King Jr. - Day of Service. This event will begin following the coordinated Shelby Chapter - NAACP MLK awareness march ending at Montevallo High School. Participants are invited to attend the rededication ceremony for the George Dailey Park to honor Montevallo's first African American city counsel member & enjoy some of the new features of the park. A short rededication of the park will take place where a special engraved plaque will be installed telling the story of the significance of Mr. Dailey's service & the ongoing phased revitalization of the park. A small team of veterans & volunteers will work diligently in the background to start the newest addition to the park; an inclusive veteran garden & outdoor classroom in the southwest corner of the park along with other small improvement projects. After the rededication, TMC Birmingham will sponsor a community cookout to celebrate the legacy of Dr. King.
