The Mission Continues Sacramento Service Platoon is hosting a service project for our United in Service 9/11 initiative. This year marks 21 years since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The Mission Continues calls on veterans to stand united and serve in their community.
The Sacramento Platoon is hosting a build project at New Roots Community Garden. The New Roots program helps increase refugees' access to and participation in the local food system through agricultural training, food access and security programming, community farming, and business development training. We will be custom building tables for the gardening efforts of New Roots. Please register today! Spots are filling fast!
More on our United In Service National Initiative:
The September 11, 2001 attacks sparked millions of Americans into service. So many felt compelled to join the United States military to defend our country in the wake of that day. Twenty-one years later, many of these men and women who stepped up to serve our veterans today still have a desire to serve this country. So today, we stand United in Service, with the help of dedicated community partners, sponsors, and volunteers, to honor those who served and sacrificed in the wake of 9/11 by continuing to serve right here at home with The Mission Continues.
