COASTAL PRESERVATION NETWORK is dedicated to restoring and protecting the coastal environment in Northeast Queens, improving local waterfront parks through hands-on action and advocacy, increasing public access to local waters, providing environmental education, and empowering residents to be greener in their daily lives. \nWe focus on MacNeil and Powells Cove parks in College Point, two magnificent East River parks that are havens of active recreation and peaceful enjoyment.
The stairwell is the only way to access the beach for local residents and visitors but due to usage and weather, it has eroded again and is in need of repair.
This event is designated as a build day, when concrete will be poured into the staircase mold that was built on 09/30.
For those not wishing to work with concrete, you can help build benches. Fun for all!
