Gratitude For Our Community

I have never been more grateful for this community. In a year marked by so many challenges, we were able to focus on the things that actually sustain us—connection, purpose, sacrifice and impact. No matter what 2020 threw at them, our veterans and community partners never stopped serving. And our mission continues, thanks to supporters like you.

This summer when we kicked off Operation Nourish, we knew this campaign was about more than food. It was addressing a critical gap in our social support systems exacerbated by COVID-19, but it was also about nourishing our purpose and nourishing connections between neighbors.

All of us were touched in some way by the events of this year, but you still gave generously and we’ve engaged more than 1700 veterans and volunteers in 250 projects to help combat food insecurity. An estimated 53.4 million–or one in every six–Americans is food insecure. Thanks to your support, we’re providing hope and a lifeline for thousands of grateful families who will have food on the table this holiday season.

While holiday tables and gatherings may look different this year, our gratitude for you has not changed. I wish you all a happy, healthy and fully nourished Thanksgiving.
