Veteran

Where were you when you first heard about or saw the 9/11 terrorist attacks?

I was working on Rector St. in New York City on 9/11. I was on the last PATH train from NJ to unload at the World Trade Center as the first plane hit the North Tower. Later, when the South Tower collapsed I was under a parked car on West St.

How did the events of that day shape your life and inspire your service to this country?

It made me very angry that something of that magnitude could happen in this country. I spent 15+ months in Vietnam and never once did I feel as vulnerable as I did on 9/11.

What are you excited to contribute to your community, however you define it, for the next 20 years?

I am a member of local VFW post and of an ELKS lodge. I try as often as I can to volunteer helping with veterans services as a member of these organizations. I contribute regularly to VVA, VFW and Wounded Warrior Project.
