Event overview

In honor of Marine veteran Clay Hunt, Team Rubicon, Team Red White and Blue, and the Mission Continues will partner to participate in the 6th annual Run as One. This is a celebration of networks that empower, unite, and enrich the lives of Veterans, as well as a symbol of leadership, action, and collaboration across the veterans support landscape. So come out and walk, run, cheer, and just be with some awesome people supporting awesome momentum! Event Timeline: Participant Arrival: 9:00am Start Time: 9:30am Social & BBQ: 10:15/10:30am "Run" Details: We will have two groups. One for walker's, rucker's, and children/walking strollers. The other will be a jog pace for runner's/joggers/jogging strollers, so the group can remain together. The first group will do one lap, the run group will do two laps. Post-Run As One Event Details: After the event, we would like to invite everyone to join us for a FAMILY FRIENDLY BBQ and social hour. We will fire up the grill cook some burgers and hot dogs for some post race grubbing. If you have a side dish or snack you would like to share with the group, just bring it with you and we'll add it to the chow line on one of the picnic tables. The area around Anacostia Park is an open grassy field, so please feel free to bring lawn games like footballs, frisbees and other fun outside activities. Parking: There is parking right next to the staging area and throughout the park. What to bring: Yourself + a friend A positive attitude Silkies (optional, but those who own them probably already want to wear them) Flag (optional but encouraged) A pot luck dish to share (optional) Lawn games (optional) We will be meeting at the Pavillion right next to the Pirate Playground off of Pennsylvania Ave SE

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
