Event overview

American Legion Manuel Perez Jr. Post 1017, Cicero American Legion Post 96, and TMC joins together to honor World War II Veteran Benito Morales. Veteran and post member Benito is a WWII Combat Infantry Badge Bronze Star recipient, awarded for Heroic achievement in action. Just days after the D-Day invasion in June of 1944, his unit, the 9th Infantry Division, landed on the shores of Omaha Beach in France. His story of strength, resilience, and service is what makes our community proud to honor and celebrate. Join us to connect with fellow veterans, families, and community members in a resource fair with food provided. Share with others how TMC has such a great impact on you and our community. This will be a great opportunity to connect with fellow veterans and resources in the community.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
