Chicago Platoon

Event overview

The three Chicago Service Platoons will be gathering on Saturday 1/16/2016 to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr through our service to the community. We will be gathering at the Latino Resources Institute of Illinois on the south side of Chicago to beautify and improve facilities. Volunteers can expect tasks such as moving furniture, building up existing structures, painting, and beautifying. The LRI is a non-for-profit organization that is focused on supporting families through advocacy, counseling, parenting classes, and substance abuse counseling. Our project will help the LRI make a difference by upgrading their space! Family and friends are welcome. The Mission Continues will provide t-shirts for new members. Let's get together and do some good! Contact me if you have questions!

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
