Twin Cities Veterans! We’re excited to inform and invite you to an event that will involve the building of three separate playgrounds in Minneapolis on September 16th with Target and KaBOOM! These playgrounds will directly benefit children at these community centers so your help is needed. All who register are expected to stay the entire time of the build as there is a lot of great building to do! TO REGISTER: Sign up with The Mission Continues at our link below. Also, you will need to REGISTER at the individual site at LINK provided below so the Community Partner and KaBOOM! can plan accordingly and it is REQUIRED to participate. There are three locations to choose from below. When registering with The Mission Continues, you will be asked to type in the name of the site you have chosen. For example: Northeast, Sabathani, or Waite House. If you can attend, they would love to have the support of our community veterans!! **Please note - All youth under the legal working age for this state will be welcome to participate in youth activities but will not be able to participate in building in the construction areas.** LOCATION 1: Northeast College Prep, 300 Industrial Blvd. NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413 REGISTER: Click here to register for the Northeast College Prep playground build . What To Wear

The playground build will happen rain or shine. Please come dressed for the weather in clothes you don't mind getting dirty or a bit of paint/stain on. Also closed-toe shoes are required, sneakers or work boots that you don't mind getting dirty are advisable.

What to Bring

Breakfast, lunch and plenty of water will be provided. Gloves and other safety materials will be provided for the projects that need them.

Inclement Weather

Rain or shine, the building will get done!

Northeast Build: Parking at Sears warehouse outlet. Sabathani and Waite House will have on-site lot/parking reserved for volunteers.

Who We Are

The Mission Continues is a national non-profit that empowers veterans to continue serving in our nation’s under-resourced communities, giving veterans the opportunity to keep serving even after the uniform comes off, right here at home. Our programs deploy veterans and volunteers to work alongside nonprofit partners and community leaders to improve educational resources, tackle food insecurity, foster neighborhood identity, and more.  

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.

What is a Service Platoon? 

Service Platoons are your opportunity to engage and connect with veterans and community members while generating community impact in a real and tangible way. Led by veteran volunteer platoon leaders, each platoon works with dedicated community partners and volunteers to provide the manpower and support that they need to help them do their work more effectively. 

We currently have service platoons in more than 40+ cities across the country that are having events at least once a month. Everyone is invited to serve, regardless of veteran status: a service platoon is for you if you have a passion for service.
