The Mission Continues will be in action this weekend and on Monday, January 18, in recognition of MLK Day 2016. The annual day of service, designated by Congress in 1994, celebrates the life of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Service Platoons are leading efforts in more than 20 cities nationwide throughout the weekend.

Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’
– Rev. Dr. Marting Luther King Jr.

In Houston, volunteers are partnering with the NCAA, Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation, Lone Star Veterans Association and others to renovate and organize the Blue Triangle Community Center. In Detroit, volunteers will help revitalize the teen room at The Lloyd H. Diehl Boys and Girls Club. And in San Diego, members of the 1st Platoon will report to Mt. Hope Community Garden.
