Come out and join the Los Angeles 2nd Platoon on Saturday 13th January with a national Day of Service honoring the memory of the Rev. Dr Martin Luther King, Jr! We will fall in on Sunrise Elementary School in Boyle Heights, where we will undertake improvement projects for the school to include bench building, mulching operations, shade cover installations and mural painting.

Please register to save the date and join in this nationwide effort over MLK weekend, when Mission Continues service platoons across the country will turn out to help support and improve their local communities, and partner with organizations in a spirit of unity and togetherness. All ages and skills welcome!

Please note that on-site registration will occur from 0830 - 0900. Event will begin at 0900 sharp! Lunch will be provided by The Mission Continues.

What To Wear :

Jeans and workboots, or any sturdy clothing you don't mind getting dirty! A blue Mission Continues t-shirt will be provided at the site.

What To Bring :

A can-do spirit, and any friends who'd want to pitch in!

Parking :

Ample street parking on E 7th St, and Camulos St.

For public transit, the school is a 25-min walk from Soto Station on the Metro Gold Line. Alternately, the 252 bus travels past Soto station and drops very near the school at Soto/7th street.
