Come join Travis Manion Foundation's NYC Service Platoon, we're picking up where we left off at Jardin De la Familia (Garden of the Family). The Previous event was postponed due to rain however, we're returning to support their greenspace for growing vegetables & connection to the community..
Why This Matters
Community gardens are more than plots of land. They are spaces for peace, enlightenment & purpose.
Food security hubs where fresh produce reaches those who need it Green spaces that cool our neighborhoods, clean our air and mitigate flooding. Intergenerational classrooms where elders pass wisdom to youth Civic laboratories where we practice democracy through shared decision-making Every person who shows up strengthens our collective capacity to care for this place and each other.

Next Saturday, we're rebuilding six new raised beds, planting their spring crop, amongst the tasks at hand. We'll provide the tools, the materials, and the guidance. Bring Yourself as Food, Drink and Friendly Banter is in Store.
