Celebrate Earth Month with the Travis Manion Foundation Chicago Service Platoon during a powerful day of service and community impact!

Join us on April 25, 2026, from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM at Bishop Shepard Little (5230 S. Halsted St, Chicago, IL 60609) as we partner with Bishop Shepherd Little and the Brookfield Zoo to support projects that will improve both indoor and outdoor spaces while promoting environmental sustainability.

Throughout the day, volunteers will work together on a variety of hands-on projects designed to strengthen and beautify the community space.

Indoor Projects: Volunteers will help refresh interior spaces through painting, building, and organizing to create a welcoming and functional environment for the community.

Outdoor Projects: Get ready to get your hands dirty! We’ll be installing rainwater collection systems, building custom tool storage solutions, and planting native greenery to support the local ecosystem and promote environmental stewardship.

Whether you're experienced with tools, passionate about gardening, or simply eager to serve, there’s a role for everyone. Come out, connect with fellow volunteers, and help us make a meaningful impact while celebrating our planet.

Come for the service, stay for the community, and help us leave a lasting green footprint together.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
