Service Project

Pullman Elementary Project Phase 2 @ Windy City ToolBank

March 21, 2026

09:00 AM - 02:30 PM CDT

Chicago Platoon

Event overview

Join Travis Manion Foundation Chicago Service Platoon for a rewarding day of service as we wrap up Phase 2 of our project supporting the students and community of Pullman Elementary School!

On March 21, 2026, from 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM, we will gather at Windy City ToolBank (1100 Cermak Road, Chicago, IL 60608) to put the finishing touches on a project that will help beautify and enhance the outdoor learning space at the school. During MLK Day, volunteers helped prepare materials, cut wood, and build benches. Now it’s time to complete the final step!

Volunteers will assemble the pre-cut flower boxes and apply waterproofing and stain to both the flower beds and benches to ensure they last for years to come. Thanks to the prep work already completed, this will be a straightforward and enjoyable day of hands-on service while making a lasting impact for local students.

Please wear closed-toed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy, as we’ll be working with wood stain and waterproofing materials. As always, families and kiddos are welcome to join in and serve alongside us!

We look forward to seeing you there as we continue to live out the mission to If Not Me, Then Who… and strengthen our community together.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
