Event overview

Get ready to roll up your sleeves with the Travis Manion Foundation’s Washington D.C. Service Platoon for a fun and hands-on community project at Dix Street Garden! On April 18, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, volunteers will help transform this neighborhood space by clearing brush, extending the fence, and creating new areas for the community to gather and enjoy.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a visible, lasting impact in your community while working alongside fellow volunteers who share your passion for service. Together, we’ll help create a welcoming space where neighbors can connect, relax, and celebrate their community.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
