Spring Equinox Builds at BQLT's McIntosh Garden

March 22, 2026

10:00 AM - 04:00 PM EDT

New York City Platoon

Event overview

Spring is here, NYC! As the cold, snow, and rain give way to warmer weather during the Spring Equinox, the Travis Manion Foundation New York City Service Platoon is excited to get back outdoors and serve alongside our community.

Join us on March 22, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM at BLQT’s McIntosh Garden (25-16 McIntosh St, East Elmhurst, Queens, NY) as we support this NYC GreenThumb award-winning greenspace maintained by the McIntosh Neighborhood Association. This vibrant community garden serves as a green oasis for the East Elmhurst neighborhood, and we’re proud to help prepare it for a successful spring growing season.

Volunteers will help build and improve raised garden beds to set the stage for a bountiful spring harvest. Whether you’re experienced with tools or simply curious to learn, this is a great opportunity to get hands-on, work with power tools, and make a meaningful impact alongside fellow volunteers.

All tools, equipment, and materials will be provided. Just bring your energy, curiosity, and willingness to serve as we work together to support this incredible community space.

Come enjoy the fresh air, connect with your community, and help strengthen this beautiful neighborhood garden. Charlie Mike!

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
