Orange County Platoon

Event overview

🌱 Travis Manion Foundation – Orange County Service Platoon 🌱

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and help bring a school garden back to life! Join the Travis Manion Foundation’s Orange County Platoon for a hands-on day of impact as we build brand-new planter beds and transform Walt Disney Elementary into a vibrant, growing space where students can learn, explore, and connect with nature.

🌼 Garden Revitalization in Two Phases

✨ Phase 1 – February (TBD) (Prep & Demo Day!)
With support from JMH Anaheim, Love Anaheim, and the school community, the existing space will be cleared and prepped for something amazing.

🌻 Phase 2 – April 18 | Build Day!
TMF volunteers will:

  • ✔ Build fresh planter beds
  • ✔ Fill them with soil and planting materials
  • ✔ Set the stage for a thriving student garden

🌿 Behind the scenes magic: Thanks to Vital Roots Foundation, new irrigation and sprinkler upgrades will be installed ahead of time so everything is ready to grow strong!

💪 Who’s Invited?

Veterans, families, community members, and corporate volunteer teams — everyone’s welcome! No experience needed, just a heart for service and a willingness to get a little dirty for a great cause.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
