MLK Legacy in Service 2026 Let's Build DIY Air Filtration Units

Hey Everyone, this MLK Service Event, TMC NYC is Joining Forces with South Bronx Unite! South Bronx Unite has been Advocating for a Cleaner & Healthier South Bronx Since 2015. We're Supporting their "Clean Air, Healthy Homes" Campaign Efforts.

We're Building DIY Portable Air Filtration Units to Community Members in Mott Haven. The Residents of NYCHA Mitchel Houses will be the Participants & Recipients of these much needed Corsi-Rosental Boxes.

The South Bronx breathes differently. Every morning, buses idle, trucks grind through our streets, factories release what they will and the neighborhood absorbs it.

Asthma inhalers become as common as backpacks. Children grow up measuring their lungs against forces they did not choose.

The air is heavy with things no one should have to swallow. But this is not just a story about damage it is a story waiting for a turning point.

That Turning Point is Us!

We'll be Setting Up, Signing Up, Facilitating, Building, Testing, Distributing & Breaking Down at Mitchel Community Center, Mott Haven, The Bronx. We're Supporting Families in Building (60+) DIY Portable Air Filtration Units to take Home. This Small Gesture will Pay Huge Dividends for Families Affected by Many Environmental Factors.
