January 19, 2026

10:00 AM - 01:00 PM CST

Event overview

Join Us for MLK Day Legacy of Service at Our first project with TA Brown Elementary!

Come together with the Austin Platoon on MLK Day of Service on January 19, 2026, at Casey Elementary to make a meaningful impact in our community. This is your chance to experience the camaraderie and teamwork from working alongside veterans and community members. Whether you’re a veteran or not, you’ll gain a unique perspective on service as we all unite to give back to under-resourced communities.

Through your efforts, you'll help foster a sense of purpose, connection, and growth among those who have served our country. Report for duty in your community and be part of something bigger. Serve at home and make a difference where it matters most as we construct a shed, helping put together tiny pre-K sized houses, garden beds, and other construction projects. Along with weed and beautify the grounds and green spaces.

We plan to continue our push for Operation Nourish with a Central Texas Food Bank mobile food pantry. Join our local partners, Neighborhood Longhorn Program, National Charity League, and Young Men's Service League while we begin with boots on the ground celebrating MLK, Jr. days of service.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
