Philadelphia Platoon

Event overview

Join Us for a Day of Service at Kenderton Elementary! 🌱

This MLK Day, let’s honor Dr. King's legacy by rolling up our sleeves and giving back to our community in a meaningful way.

Kenderton Elementary School, nestled in the heart of North Philadelphia, has asked for our help—and we’re answering the call. Together, we’ll:

- Brighten the lunchroom with a fresh coat of paint to create a welcoming space for students
- Beautify the stairwells to uplift the daily walk of every child and teacher
- Build planter benches and an indoor garden to bring nature and joy into the school halls

Whether you're handy with a paintbrush, love working with your hands, or simply want to make a difference, your time and energy will go a long way.

Come be part of something special. Let’s transform a school, uplift a neighborhood, and celebrate the power of community.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
