Service Project

Whispering Manes Therapeutic Garden

November 15, 2025

09:00 AM - 02:00 PM EST

Miami Platoon

Event overview

Join us on November 15 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, as we join efforts with the Miami 1 Team for a transformative day of service at Whispering Manes Therapeutic Riding Center, in commemoration of Veterans Day. This nonprofit’s mission is to benefit children and adults with special needs or disabilities by offering them the opportunity to interact with dedicated horses in a manner that promotes physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.

This volunteer project will involve: Creating and installing sensory activation displays and the completion of the butterfly garden, among other projects.

Additionally, please join us in supporting Out of Foster Foundation, who focused on assisting disadvantaged youths with their housing, life skills, financial literacy, and educational needs as they turn 18 years old and emerge from the foster care system, by donating NEW household essentials for the New Beginnings Essential Kits — items such as bedding (Full Size), pillows, towels, dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans, laundry and waste baskets, toiletries, hangers, bathmats, clock radios, cleaning supplies, and more — to help former foster youth transition into safe, independent living. Any new item donations, big or small, are appreciated!

Veterans Day in Service projects like this one are made possible by the support of partners like Navy Federal Credit Union.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
