United in Service in Remembrance of 911

September 06, 2025

08:00 AM - 12:30 PM

DFW Platoon

Event overview

The Mission Continues will be hosting a 9/11 Day of Service project in support of MommaBear Childcare, a local early learning center dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing space for young children.

This project will bring together veterans, volunteers, and community members to improve and refresh the childcare facility’s outdoor and indoor learning areas. Planned efforts include setting up interactive learning stations, enhancing the outdoor play space, organizing supplies, and completing minor repairs or beautification projects as needed.

This day of service honors the spirit of unity and remembrance tied to 9/11, while helping strengthen a grassroots organization that supports working families in our community. Volunteers of all backgrounds are welcome to join and make a meaningful impact.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
