Bench & Picnic Table Build - July 19, 2025

The Mission Continues in Partnership with the Pat Tillman Foundation and Windy City ToolBank

Bench & Picnic Table Build | July 19, 2025 | Washington Square Park, Chicago, IL

Join us for a powerful day of service, unity, and community impact in the heart of Chicago! On Saturday, July 19, 2025, The Mission Continues, in proud partnership with the Pat Tillman Foundation and Windy City ToolBank, will bring together over 100 dedicated volunteers for an epic build project at Washington Square Park.

Together, we’ll be assembling and finishing benches and picnic tables that will enhance public spaces across the city, creating welcoming places for connection, rest, and reflection. This project is more than just wood and screws—it’s about uniting with purpose, building something lasting for the community, and honoring the spirit of service that defines our organizations.

Whether you’re a seasoned builder or a first-time volunteer, your energy, heart, and helping hands are all that’s needed. Let’s roll up our sleeves, make an impact, and show what’s possible when service-minded individuals come together for a common cause.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
