Tacoma Platoon

Event overview

Join the Mission Continues Tacoma 1st Platoon, as they #reportforduty alongside Stream Team in Lacey, WA for what promises to be an amazing Support Project. Along with the Platoon, Stream Team is inviting all active duty, retired military personnel, and community members to join them as they plant, mulch, and remove weeds to improve the habitat at Woodland Creek. This is an amazing opportunity for TMC members to #charliemike with not only other veterans, but also members of their community What is Stream Team you ask? Stream Team is cooperatively sponsored and funded by the storm and surface water utilities of the Cities of Lacey, Olympia, and Tumwater and Thurston County. Stream Team began in 1990 as a way for local governments to involve citizens in the basin (watershed) planning process for a few local creeks. After the plans were finished, Stream Team found a niche in the South Sound for providing free quality environmental education programs and activities and hands-on action projects. You want snacks? Snacks will be provided. You want drinks? Drinks will be provided too. Need tools? No worries...they will be provided also. How about gloves? Yep...all provided The only thing that you need to bring is your blue TMC shirt and a great attitude.

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
