Service Project

Project Paint Resilience

March 25, 2017

09:00 AM - 01:00 PM EDT

Detroit Platoon

Event overview

Detroit 1st Platoon has invested many hours and resources into Central High School and our work is appreciated by the staff, the community, and, most importantly, the students. Through Project Resilience, we will continue to make Central a beautiful place where students will be excited to step foot into everyday. On MLK Day, we continued to repaint areas of the school, so let's continue to give this space the touch up it needs. We will continue to paint some areas on the second floor and up to the 3rd floor stairway. We will also touch up the restroom doors and hang painted canvases of college logos as well as various painting project throughout the school. Please arrive by 9:00 AM for registration. A pancake breakfast will be provided followed by kick off and project team assignments. Let's get it done and make our impact greater!

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
