Operation Nourish: Food Distribution Day at Redland Christian Academy

July 18, 2020

08:30 AM - 02:00 PM EDT

Miami Platoon

Event overview

COVID-19 has exposed and exacerbated the underlying fragility of our social support systems, including food security and depleted the volunteer forces that typically support this work. As a result, more Americans are going hungry and our institutions are struggling to keep up. The demand at food banks across the country has skyrocketed in recent weeks — increasing by as much as 600 percent at some — underscoring just how expansive the effects of the economic downturn have been. In support of Operation Nourish, The Mission Continues Miami Platoon is supporting the Bridge of Hope at their major food distribution event at Redland Christian Academy on July 18th. Please join us in support this major food distribution in Miami-Dade county by loading up vehicle with much needed food. Water and snacks will be provided for volunteers. TMC Safety Guidelines for Volunteers: >Maintain social distancing >Wear face mask >We will NOT be doing manual registration, please ensure you register electronically

Who We Are

In 2025, Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) acquired The Mission Continues, bringing two best-in-class organizations together to provide more opportunities for veterans to find community, lead, and serve. Guided by the ethos “If Not Me, Then Who…,” veterans continue their service, build connections, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation. Learn more about TMF at travismanion.org

Who should volunteer?

Our service projects are for all veterans with a desire to continue their service and for all non-veterans that want to be part of a nationwide movement to transform communities. Please note, age and accessibility accommodations can be made at any project. There is room for everyone to make an impact.
