Volunteers are needed to help run the drive up testing site located at the Michigan State Fairgrounds. The Mission Continues is supporting this effort by helping to recruit volunteers. Please read the description entirely for all pertinent details! The Coronavirus Community Care Network has set up a testing site that will have capacity to conduct 400 tests per day and 14,400 over a six-week period. Testing will begin Friday at Joe Dumars Field House at Michigan State Fairgrounds. The Coronavirus Community Care Network is a coalition made up of the City of Detroit, 3 counties, and 3 health care systems to open a regional drive up COVID-19 testing site in Detroit. The site runs DAILY Monday-Friday until May 29, and volunteers can choose either a morning shift (9am-1pm) or afternoon shift (2pm-6pm). Please arrive with comfortable shoes and clothing. Be dressed weather appropriate, you will be standing outside under a tent. You will be provided appropriate protective gear to wear during your shift.
