Farm Training for Veterans and Market Day

Event overview

Black Oaks Center (BOC) will be partnering with The Mission Continues (TMC) and Chicago State University (CSU) to train veterans in commercial farming and permaculture beginning this Spring!  BOC has successfully trained farmers from 2013 to 2015 thanks to the Beginning Farmer Rancher Development Grant award to cultivate urban farmers. We are looking forward to collaborating to take this training to the next level. Seeds, seedlings, soil amendments, organic fertilizers and healthy, affordable foods will be available. Don’t miss it!!! Event will be at the Aquaponics Building, near the CSU Library, located on the North end of campus (you can see a map here .
